PRODUCTION MANAGER | DORSET
Up to £60,000 basic salary + excellent benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to take the lead across warehouse, blending and packaging operations at an established food manufacturing site in Dorset.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving site performance, improving efficiencies and shaping the future direction of the operation, whilst working for an organisation with a genuine commitment to sustainability and responsible food production.
THE ROLE
Reporting into the senior site leadership team, you will take ownership of day-to-day production operations, ensuring people, processes and resources are aligned to deliver outstanding performance across safety, quality, service and cost.
Key responsibilities will include:

Leading, motivating and developing warehouse, blending and packaging teams, creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.

Ensuring production plans are delivered effectively, maximising output, service levels and operational efficiency.

Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain Planning to optimise resources and maintain smooth factory operations.

Driving a culture of Continuous Improvement, introducing Lean methodologies and initiatives such as Kaizen to reduce waste and improve productivity.

Developing and delivering operational plans, budgets and longer-term factory strategies.

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, control costs and maximise the use of people and resources.

Working with HR to develop training, succession and development plans, building capability across the operation.

Maintaining robust operational processes, stock control and SAP compliance.

Monitoring performance, setting clear expectations and recognising and developing talent within your teams.

Playing an active role within the site leadership team, contributing to wider business strategy and operational objectives.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Production Manager who can lead from the front and bring people with them.
You'll ideally have:

Proven experience managing production operations within FMCG or food manufacturing.

Experience leading multiple operational areas and managing sizeable production teams.

A strong understanding of production planning, resource management and factory performance.

A track record of delivering Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives, with measurable results.

The ability to analyse performance data, identify opportunities and translate these into practical improvements.

Experience managing budgets, controlling costs and improving operational efficiencies.

Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop teams.
-
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence and collaborate at senior leadership level.

SAP experience would be advantageous.
